  • I have filled my home with beautful things that make me happy. For one thing, I have a wonderful collection of Seraphim angels. However, the Divine Consciousness within me allows me to enjoy them, but not worship them. I would have to consider myself materialistic in the sense of collecting beautiful things, but I also consider myself Spiritual in my devotion and commitment to The Divine. Have I balanced the two? I will bring that to the table when next I meditate. Thanks for your comment. Frater Harry.

Greetings Fr. Desi and my fellow fraters and sorors. The movie showed us two kinds of people: The materialistic, and the spiritual. If your one orthe other, does it make sense that you can never quite balance the two. What
do you think? Even in the Matrix movie, you could either swollow the red
(spiritual) pill, or the blue (material) pill, but not both.
  • Point well taken. Although the soldiers (American) were following the orders of a mining company (American) they definately, as you have now made me realize, represent humanity. Thanks!

I agree with the comments with one exception - to say "American Way - greed" would not be considered as accurate as your other opinions. I would morelikely say that "greed" is more of a nature tendancy for our human nature.
(or actually most species) To isolate as a character flaw specific to "Americans"
ignores the broad impact that "greed" has on evolution. (plus it could be
considered to have more of an underlying subtle negative tone which could
    lead to additional negative vibrations).

Ideally - because we as a species find such a movie enjoyable demonstrates that we are taking steps in the right direction - so we should focus on that
    aspect.

btw: Watching in 3D certainaly has some advantages.
  • Well said, Fr. Williams.

  • 3 D made the movie much more enjoyable and made you feel as if you were a part of the movie. I forgot about everyone else inside of the theatre.

  • I agree with everything that you had to say Frater Harry. I am glad that you brought up the Pope and the Vatican comments. I do not agree with the catholic church, after all nature is also a part of God. Spirituality is missing in the lives of many people around the globe. We all could benefit from the oneness of each individual as a collective whole.

It was fantastic. Loved the sensitivity to all life. No unnecessary killing. I didn't like the military action at the end, but, it was part and parcial of the movie. Definately reflected an aspect of the American way - greed - and the complete disregard for the llives of the Navi people to get what was wanted. Very spiritual. I sure do not agree with the Pope and the Catholic church who condemned the movie because it "encourages nature worship." I plan on seeing it again. Frater Harry Stock
